As a company that is 51% owned, operated, and controlled by individuals qualifying as a small business, we are committed to contributing toward your bid requirements for SBE participation. Our certification not only demonstrates our dedication to supporting small businesses and inclusion but also positions us as an active partner in advancing the goals of the Charlotte Business INClusion (CBI) program.
The CBI program is designed to create opportunities for small, minority, and women business enterprises (MWSBEs) within the City of Charlotte’s contracting process. Through certification, Catawba Fence LLC gains access to city vendor lists, bid notifications, networking events, and technical support—enabling us to compete fairly and meaningfully for city contracts. These initiatives help drive economic growth, foster job creation, and ensure that businesses like ours have a seat at the table.
In support of these objectives, the City Manager may appoint specialized Goals Committees to advise on setting participation targets for SBEs, MBEs, and WBEs on city contracts. These committees, comprised of industry experts, review data on available qualified businesses and provide recommendations to the Program Manager for establishing fair and attainable participation goals. The Program Manager also consults with the Charlotte Business INClusion Advisory Committee as needed when determining these targets. This process ensures that goal-setting is informed, equitable, and aligned with the CBI Program’s mission.
